At our small family hobby farm in rural Black Earth, Wisconsin, we love lavender and we love the countryside…and we want to share them both with you!

We enjoy the quiet peace, the valleys and bluffs, and the beauty of the Driftless area. After traveling the slow-paced curves of a tree lined country road, we arrive at our farm, filled with hundreds of lavender plants, a wildflower prairie, flower and vegetable garden, open acres of hay fields and our beloved companion animals: goats, horses, chickens, ducks, cats and dogs. Our lavender is cared for and harvested by our family and used to create unique home and body products that reflect my passion for natural living. My Mom, Aunt and I make our products by hand in our workshop, crafted only with natural, organic and nourishing ingredients, and eco-friendly and compostable packaging whenever possible. Natural living has always been a part of me – I am a label reader, an ingredient researcher, a back-to-the-basics mom and hobby farm homemaker. I fell in love with lavender essential oil many years ago while creating a line of soy and beeswax candles. So, when we built our homestead in 2019, I wondered if I could grow lavender here in Wisconsin, despite this area being a very non-native environment for lavender with all the humidity in the summer and deep cold in the winter. After months of research, a huge learning curve, some challenges and setbacks, and a lot of time and energy from my family, we now have over 500 lavender plants in many different varieties. Our farm name comes partly from the many beautiful shades of indigo that lavender can take on, but mainly the name comes from the stunning skies that surround our home and farm. We are located at one of the highest spots in Dane County with wide open views both east and west, so when storms roll in or during sunrises and sunsets, we have every shade of indigo painting our sky. Growing lavender is definitely a labor of love!
